We have a current job opening at our Vicksburg, MS facilities for a Research Fisheries Biologist with the following requirements:
RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities include conducting field studies in the Mississippi river on environmental benefits of aquatic restoration projects and monitoring endangered populations of sturgeon and other riverine fish species. They also include managing field teams to collect appropriate and relevant data on fish assemblages and habitat, performing data analyses using statistical techniques (e.g. Statistical Analysis System), and preparing technical notes and journal articles, as well as presenting the findings at scientific meetings and conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS: MS or PhD in fisheries biology or related field. A strong background in fish taxonomy, population modeling, and multivariate statistics is required. Candidates must have proven technical writing, communication, and project management skills as well as interpersonal and critical thinking skills to support a team oriented approach.
SALARY: Commensurate with education/degree and experience
